Orissa upset Bengal in BC Roy Trophy quarters
 
Orissa posted a sensational victory by defeating former champions Bengal 2-0 in a quarterfinal league match of the 48th Junior National Football Championship for Dr B C Roy Trophy at Mandya in Karnataka today.

S Marandi drew first blood in the 30th minute, while Sudam Soren struck the second goal in the 60th minute. Orissa will play their other two quarterfinal league matches against Manipur and Mizoram on January 3 and 5 respectively.

Earlier in the cluster round, Orissa beat Meghalaya 1-0, stunned Goa 2-0 and drew with Jammu & Kashmir 1-1 to occupy the top position in cluster III. The championship is scheduled to conclude on January 10.
