Tourist Places of Bhubaneswar
Bhubaneswar “The Lord of the Universe” is the capital of Orissa. The city drives its name from Tribuhuvaneswara or “Lord of the Three Worlds". Bhubaneswar was also the capital of ancient Kalinga and it forms one of the vertices of Golden Triangle, the other two being the cities of Puri and Konark. Bhubaneswar is proud of possessing the name of Temple City of India on account of large number of ancicent temples. The skillfully carved spire of the Lingaraj Temple (11th Century), the quiet beauty of the Vishwa Shanti Stupa and the pink translucence of the Mahavira Jain Temple in Khandagiri are among the temples known for its rich religious heritage.
