The date of bypoll for Umerkote Assembly constituency was announced by the Election Commission of India on Tuesday.
The notification for the bypoll will be issued by the commission on November 5. Nomination papers will have to be filed by November 12 for the polls that will be held on November 30. Counting of votes will be conducted on December 4.
The Assembly seat is currently lying vacant following the death of sitting MLA Jagabandhu Majhi on September 24. Majhi, the 39-year-old MLA, was allegedly shot dead by unidentified persons while attending a public function at Gona village.
