The state government in collaboration with NISER and KIIT is organizing the 99th National Science Congress,to be inaugurated by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in the state capital on January 3.
Sources said, as many as 15,000 representatives including about 5,000 from foreign countries would participate in the prestigious congress,which is being held in the state after a long gap of 35 years.
In order to ensure smooth conduct of the 5-day congress,a high level meeting was held in the state secretariat.Besides arrangements,it was decided in the meeting to roll out a Bigyan Rath (science rath) from Puri which would cover all the 30 districts in the state.
The UNESCO sponsored Kalinga award would be given away by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh during the congress.
The closing in ceremony may also find the presence of the Prime Minister.
